Date(s) - 14/04/2018 - 15/04/2018
Following a site inspection at Leicester County Showground this morning (11/04/18), the rearranged Spring Championships have been cancelled on health and safety grounds. The site was in good condition last week when it was inspected and rearrangements were made. However, days of torrential rain in the past 2 days, have now made the ground very wet and the showground authorities have cancelled the event. We can only apologise for this but the one thing we have no control over is the weather!
Obviously, this is a very difficult situation for the Association. I have to say that, never in 25 years, have we had to cancel twice because of the bad weather. We understand how disappointing this is for everyone concerned and how many people have changed their arrangements in order to attend the new show only to find that they will now have to cancel their plans. As you can imagine, a huge amount of work went into rearranging the show and all that work has now been lost. Jodie has made huge efforts to ensure that the show was a success aided by myself and Rosie. Its very disappointing for everyone.
With regard to monies paid, it would greatly help Rosie and I with the administration if those teams planning to go to UK Masters can leave their money with us so that we don’t have to go through the process of refunding all teams and then collecting entry fees again for UK Masters. However, if your team is not attending UK Masters then, of course, full refunds will be available.
Once again, I am so very sorry to have to be writing this. I look forward to seeing you soon when the weather relents!!

FOR ORGANISATIONAL REASONS, WE NEED TO KNOW WHICH TEAMS WILL BE ATTENDING THE SHOW AND WHICH TEAMS CAN NO LONGER MAKE IT.
WILL ALL TEAMS WHO WERE ENTERED FOR THE SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS PLEASE EMAIL ROSIE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO LET HER KNOW WHETHER YOU WILL BE ATTENDING THE REARRANGED SHOW OR NOT.

We do appreciate that not every team will be able to make the new date and venue. However, please do make every effort to attend if possible. The new Leagues will be decided on the results of this show. Separate arrangements will be made for those teams who cannot attend. The General Committee have obviously not discussed the League position yet as events have moved very quickly in the last 24 hours! However, this will be discussed asap and an announcement made in the very near future.

Welcome to the all new MGAGB Musketeers!
We look forward to a new season but while everyone looks to plan teams, I would like to remind the following points-
1. Musketeers are for children who are very novice and are likely to need assistance from another person in a race to be able to complete the race, regardless of how long that takes.
2. NO RIDERS that have ever competed in any form of U12 competition are to be included in this section. It is to allow children the chance to move onwards to U12 as soon as possible.
3. Parents/guardians who are leading ponies are there to support their rider to learn and progress in races. Not in any way to regard winning that race as more important than the rider to learn how to correctly complete it independently.
4. The U12 section of MGAGB will be of mixed capabilities this year and riders new to this section will be fully supported to aid with the jump between categories. There will also be entertainment for those riders in the U12 category announced shortly. The aim is for riders to feel proud to progress in to the competition of U12.
5. This section is never to be used for riders in U12 or above to try new ponies out.
We will be flexible as the season continues as to progressing between categories and if any concerns please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanking you all and looking forward to lots of fun ahead!
